Abstract

ABSTRACT

Background: Menstruation is a physiological process experienced by adolescent girls as part of the development of the reproductive system. Adequate knowledge about menstruation plays a crucial role in shaping adolescent girls' readiness to face menstruation. However, the level of knowledge and readiness of adolescent girls varies. The  purpose  of  this  study  was to analyze the relationship between knowledge about menstruation and readiness to face menstruation among adolescent girls at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 9 Sleman.

 

Methods: This quantitative study used a correlational analytical design using a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 98 seventh and eighth grade female students selected using proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using the chi-square test.

 

Results: The analysis showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between knowledge about menstruation and readiness to face menstruation in adolescent girls.

 

Conclusion: Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between knowledge about menstruation and readiness to face menstruation in adolescent girls. The better the knowledge about menstruation, the better the adolescent girls' readiness to face menstruation.
