Background: The development of e-commerce has simplified the purchasing process; however, it also increases the risk of impulsive buying behavior, particularly among university students. One psychological factor that plays an important role in regulating such behavior is self-control.
Objective: This study aimed to examine the relationship between self-control and impulsive buying behavior among e-commerce users who are second-year nursing students at Poltekkes Kemenkes Surakarta
Methods: This study employed a quantitative correlational design with a simple random sampling technique. The research sample consisted of 154 students. The instruments used were the Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS) and the Impulsive Buying Tendency Scale (IBTS). Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson correlation test
Results: The results showed a significance value of p = 0.001 < α = 0.05 with a correlation coefficient (r) = −0.453.
Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between self-control and impulsive buying behavior among second-year nursing students, with a negative direction, indicating that higher self-control is associated with lower impulsive buying behavior.
Sugestion: Students are encouraged to improve their self-control abilities to minimize impulsive purchasing behavior.
